Working in COVID-19 surge zones pushed Anna to create a TikTok account to connect with other nurses and educate about public health. After connecting on TikTok, Anna and Chrissy Masarro, MSN-CRNA, created Confident Care Academy to educate and empower the next generation of critical care nurses and nurse anesthesiologists. Confident Care Academy is a community of >1100 nurse anesthesia residents and registered nurses, with >40 AANA CE class A credits, weekly zoom sessions, in-person community meetups, CCRN preparation, and starting 12/2025, in person advanced skills workshops.

Ray Ramos is the Platform Chief CRNA for US Anesthesia Partners in Austin, Texas, where he leads operations for more than 225+ CRNAs across multiple facilities. A graduate of Texas Wesleyan University’s nurse anesthesia program, he completed his clinical training in Colorado, Dallas, and Austin, and has spent his entire career with USAP in Austin. Ray brings nearly two decades of clinical and leadership experience to his role and also serves as Vice Chair of USAP’s National Care Team Advisory Committee. An active voice on several national committees focused on culture, innovation, and clinician engagement, Ray travels extensively to educate CRNA training programs across the country— including his alma mater, TWU—on topics often overlooked in the classroom. Passionate about mentorship, team culture, and professional development, Ray is committed to shaping the future of the CRNA profession. He lives in Austin with his wife of 19 years and their two teenage daughters and remains deeply grateful for the career and community he’s built since graduating from TWU.

Joshua Olson, DNP, CRNA is an Assistant Professor of Nurse Anesthesiology and program director at the University of Detroit-Mercy’s nurse anesthesia program. Dr. Olson has worked clinically for many years at Henry Ford Hospital, where he also served as their educator before coming on staff at Detroit Mercy. He is recognized for his expertise in the use of artificial intelligence in education, simulation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. He has also served in many capacities throughout our profession, including chairing the Michigan Association Nurse Anesthetists Program Committee and as a member of the NBCRNA’s CPC item writing team.
Dr. Olson is currently working on two separate research projects on the use of artificial intelligence in CRNA education. His most recent manuscript on the use of artificial intelligence was published in the Journal of Nurse Anesthesia Education. He lives within the city of Detroit with his wife and four children where you’ll find him riding his bike to work most days. He is also the creator andco-founder of Ollivate, the DuoLingo of healthcare education.

Lee Ranalli graduated from the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia in 2010 and returned to his home state of Arizona. After serving for several years as Chief CRNA, he pursued his passion for teaching and transitioned into nurse anesthesia education. He is the author of numerous published articles and the co-author of the Obstetric Anesthesia chapter in the textbook Nurse Anesthesia. Lee is a former President of the Arizona Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and currently serves on its Education Committee. He will be honored with the 34th Annual Didactic instructor of the Year award at the upcoming AANA Annual Congress.
